PL Series-Plastic Laminate Specifications
							Part I - General
									1.1 Scope
								A. Furnish all materials, labor and equipment necessary to complete installation of tactile sign systems shown on drawings and herein specified. Installation shall include all appropriate hardware and adhesive.
							1.2 Submittals
								A. Manufacture's illustrated product literature and specifications.
								B. Installation instructions.
								C. Complete shop drawings.
							1.3 Quality Assurance
								A. Manufacturer to have a minimum of 5 years experience in manufacturing signage.
								B. All signage to be manufactured by one manufacturer.

							2.2 Materials
								A. Sign Panels
								1. Sign Panels shall be 1/16" scratch resistant plastic laminate.
								2. Sign panels backing material to be of a (.125" or .250") injected molded colored acrylic or (."125 or .250") clear acrylic.
							2.3 Fabrication
								A. Letter style to be _________________________________ upper case and accompanied by Grade 2 Braille. Letter size and text per sign schedule and drawings.
								B. Graphics to be chemically welded to the acrylic core through the plastic laminate to assure permanent adhesion. Graphics to be integral with the background. Individually applied and hand spaced graphics are not acceptable.
								C. Corners (square or radius) with edges routed.
								D. Plaque assembly to be mounted with double faced tape and silastic adhesive.
							2.4 Finishes
								A. Graphic sign panel colors to be selected from either Wilsonart®, Nevamar® or Pionite® plastic laminate.
								
								B. Raised graphic surfaces to be laser cut acrylic. Braille to be rastered into plastic laminate.
								C. All engraved graphics or demarcation lines are to be painted or have exposed colored core.
							Part III - Execution
								3.1 Installation
								A. Install tactile sign system in accordance with manufacturer's written installation instructions and shop drawings.
							3.2 Cleaning & Protection
								A. Wash all surfaces clean following installation.
							3.3 Warranty
								A. Sign International's architectural signage systems carry a five year manufacturer's limited warranty.
